Lucid Dream Secrets
June 7th, 2009 by Sam-Frea

Very simply put, a dream in which you are conscious that you are dreaming is known as a Lucid Dream. The expression lucid dreaming in this context means aware or conscious. But the extent of your 'lucidity' can vary according to how ‘stable’ the dream experience itself is, how much you manage to remember about the dream when you wake up, and also how much influence you have in taking control of the dream itself.

The most important part of this equation is the control you have over the events of your Lucid Dream and that you know that you are in fact dreaming. You are in control of your dream and can have any experience in your Lucid Dream that you want to have.

Just take a moment to consider the possibilities. When you are Lucid Dreaming, everything feels and looks real, but you are aware that you are dreaming and will be safe no matter what happens in your dream. This is the kind of personal virtual reality experience which no computer yet created can come close to.

More people than ever before are trying Lucid Dreaming for themselves. While most people experience a Lucid Dream at some point in their lives, just imagine how exciting it would be if you could have Lucid Dreams any time you want!

Lucid Dreaming gives you the opportunity to have any experience that you can think of. You can meet anyone you ever wanted to, visit other planets, have unbridled erotic experiences, speak with the loved ones you have lost; anything you can imagine can happen.

But experiencing regular and controlled Lucid Dreams can actually be fairly complicated to achieve. Certainly until recently people would spend months going through an instruction training and self-conditioning procedure prior to obtain familiarity to their first lucid dream. Often people would manage to have but brief instants of lucidity, whereas others never succeed in it at all.

So are there any simple ways of experiencing a Lucid Dream?

Many people feel that particular foods can encourage or induce a lucid dream. You should try these immediately before going to sleep. Orange Juice, Milk and Cheese and also Mustard have been reported as being good things to consume for the best results.

Others recommend popcorn, pickles, fish and ice cream. While these people say that these foods prepare your mind for Lucid Dreaming, it should be noted that many of them are also high in salt and fat, which won't necessarily help you to get a good night's rest.

Can Technology Assist You?

There are new technologies which can assist you in having Lucid Dreams. There are sleep masks and eyeshades which turn on LEDs when REM sleep is detected; the idea is that the red light of the LED will let dreamers know that they are dreaming; this is the first step to taking control of the dream.

But exciting new developments in sound technology have opened up the world of Lucid Dreams to anybody! A process has been developed by scientists where different sound frequency waves are played in each ear. This is known as binaural beats.

Binaural frequencies help to synchronize the hemispheres of your brain – listening to them helps the brain to reach REM sleep, which is the necessary state for Lucid Dreaming.

If you have always wanted to try Lucid Dreaming for yourself, binaural sound presents the quickest and easiest way to begin.
